"The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift"---Albert Einstein

I passed this guy in the park this morning. We have seen eachother for years now. We have seen eachother change and grow. There are good days and there are clearly bad days for each of us. Today it was clear he was struggling as I was. A bit be-draggled. Though we have both aged and time has passed, even taking these things into consideration, it was clear he was still in an ongoing struggle, trying to make ends meet and find some joy in life. Neither of us had made it to a place where we could rest or just soar a bit. It occured to me that as different as we all are, we are all struggling with some of the same things. We just do it on our own...alone. I guess we learn that from our parents and from society as well. The thought came to me that what if we just decided to work together one day, to share resources and contacts, connections and ideas, in order to accomplish and build something bigger which worked for us all...something larger than any of us could build on our own. We could build something which supported us in those essentials at the bottom of the pyramid of needs so much more easily than we ever could do alone. I saw this this morning and I kind of realized what you guys are trying to do with your business. Thank you... Anonymous, Philadephia, PA.

"If a man is infected by the author's condition of soul, if he feels this emotion and this union with others, then the object which has effected this is art; but if there be no such infection, if there be not this union with the author and with others who are moved by the same work - then it is not art. And not only is infection a sure sign of art, but the degree of infectiousness is also the sole measure of excellence in art." Leo Tolstoy

In this time of great change and evolution, there are many ways of connecting to a truly divine feeling within yourself. For me, it is within the walls of my studio space that such magic occurs.

It is in the stillness of night that I produce many of my greatest and most memorable pieces of art. I begin all painting sessions with a sense of gratitude which is extended to myself for taking the time to enter this space and create. Gratitude is then expressed to all the artists of present day, and to all those who have come before us, for it is they who are the source of many of our inspirations. I also express gratitude for the ability to have a space to work within and supplies to utilize. As I pick up each brush and color, I allow intuition to be my guide. The feeling I get while creating is a sense of euphoria. My mind is no longer leading me, it is the connection to my core and to the universe that allows the creation of the images that emerge. I am in constant amazement with the finished product, for each painting I complete is a surprise to me in it's content.

I can then sit for hours upon hours in this magical space I have created for myself and connect with the process of how it was created and feel the source from which it came. I am then able to see which direction the painting should face, as it would seem that many of them are produced up side down. The sense of awe I get throughout the work and in the completion of them is something I feel to the core of my being. It is within that core of me that the seeds of these creations grow, and blossom. I am eternally grateful for beginning this journey. It is who I am, and what I love. I am a creator, I am connecting, and I am alive!
