Thea Alvin, a professional stonemason and self-taught artist, finds her inspiration in organic materials such as stones and piles of brush. She’s fascinated by forms and patterns that occur in nature, and she tries to replicate them in her artwork.
Her work has been exhibited at several South End Arts + Business Association exhibits in Burlington, at the Johnson Studio Center, and at galleries and businesses throughout Stowe. She’s also been commissioned to design pieces for clients in Oregon and Boston. This fall, she will travel to Colorado to work on a commissioned piece there.
There is a book being published with her work being one of the features in it, a short film in the process.. and most recently a newspaper article... see this link for the full story...
